One thing that might have hampered me was my extreme shyness as a youth. Never during my twenties could I get the hang of finding someone to date, much less dating itself. My first sexual-type experience didn't come along until I was 29, and that was with someone who was unavailable. That liaison ended just before consummation, much to my dissatisfaction.
