DISPARITY

Those with looks and wealth are too popular;
    in them thoughtlessness can fester.
The plain and the poor treasure each contact;
    in their hearts kindness may flourish.

Callousness is more malady than fault.
    But the very lonely,
whether young runaway or weary aunt,
    face their own threat: bitterness.
